Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2025. Please read these terms carefully before using our website or placing an order.

1. About Us

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Anita's Home Kitchen website and services. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Anita's Home Kitchen is operated by Anita Adebayo, based in Carlisle, United Kingdom. For any questions about these terms, please contact us.

2. Using Our Website

By using our website, you agree to:

  • Use the website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its related systems
  • Not transmit any material that is harmful, offensive, obscene or otherwise objectionable
  • Not use the website to distribute spam or unsolicited communications

We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to our website to any person who violates these terms.

3. Placing Orders

When you place an order with Anita's Home Kitchen:

  • You confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete
  • You are responsible for declaring any dietary requirements or allergies at the time of ordering
  • An order is confirmed only once you receive written or verbal confirmation from us
  • We reserve the right to refuse an order at our discretion, for example if we are unable to fulfil your requirements or if the requested date is unavailable
  • For catering bookings, a deposit may be required to secure your date — this will be confirmed in your quote

4. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable
  • Prices may vary depending on ingredients, quantities, event requirements and customisation
  • Final pricing for catering and events will be confirmed in a written quote before you commit to a booking
  • Payment must be made in full (or in accordance with the agreed deposit schedule) before delivery or service
  • We accept bank transfer, card payments and Apple Pay

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Personal meal orders: Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may not be eligible for a refund if ingredients have already been purchased
  • Catering bookings: Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event date will receive a full refund of any deposit. Cancellations within 7 days may result in partial or no refund of the deposit depending on costs already incurred
  • Event unavoidable changes: If you need to reschedule, please contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to accommodate the new date
  • Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 5–10 working days

We understand circumstances can change — please always contact us directly and we will try our best to find a fair solution.

6. Liability

  • We take all reasonable care in preparing and delivering our food and services
  • It is your responsibility to declare all allergies and dietary requirements — we cannot be held liable for reactions resulting from undisclosed allergens
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special losses arising from the use of our website or services
  • Our total liability in connection with any order shall not exceed the value of that order
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
